This is the view over the west wall of Fort McPherson National Cemetery. I was simply taking some shots around the perimeter of the cemetery for my records when, seated on the low brick wall, I looked over into the fields bordering it. Of course they were cornfields. Even though National Cemeteries all look the same, they all look different; each is affected by its location and has its own character. What better place marker could I find for Nebraska than the ubiquitous stalks of corn? |
